Partnering with the Community

Bert Fish has a long-standing tradition of giving of services and enriching the lives of those in our community.  Not only are we here for those who are sick, we work to keep our citizen healthy.

Bert Fish Health Fairs

Several times each year, clinicians of Bert Fish are on-hand for valuable health fairs for citizens to participate and learn the way to better living!  Some of the major health fairs will include blood work, cholesterol screenings, PSA testing, and grip testing for participants.  Check out our calendar for upcoming ones in your neighborhood.

Bert Fish Blood Drives

Every month, Bert Fish hosts the Florida Blood Centers for a blood drive.  Those who donate are really giving the gift of life!  Check out our calendar for the next Bert Fish Blood Drive.

Bert Fish Culinary Arts Classes

Bert Fish Medical Center’s award-winning “Chef Jeff” Pitterman has conducted several Culinary Arts classes over the years.  These classes are always well attended and FUN! (You might even call them “delicious”…)  Check out our calendar to find out the upcoming class schedule.

Bert Fish Medical Academy

Since 1998, the Bert Fish Medical Academy has offered New Smyrna Beach High School students an in-depth, comprehensive look at health-related occupations in the hospital.  As many as 225 students in grades ninth through twelfth participate each year. Well over 700 students have had a chance to experience this program since it began!  Each fall, the experience begins with an orientation day at the hospital for the new students and their parents to the program.  This includes classroom instruction as well as a tour of the hospital and the areas where they will shadow.
