Sciatic Nerve
I was at the ER a few weeks ago (pinched my sciatic nerve) very miserable & in a lot of pain, and I cannot tell you how well my husband and I were treated. It was like 2:30 or 3:00 in the morning when we got there and every single person we encountered there could not have been more compassionate and helpful. I couldn’t even tell you who all we came into contact with because I was in so much pain, but they were just amazing and so good to us. I had to come back a few days later for a scheduled MRI during the daytime and was still in horrible pain and once again from the minute we pulled up at the front door and they could see I was having such a difficult time getting out of the vehicle, and a couple of people came right out and offered to help my husband with me, then even when we got to the lab they were so kind and filled out the paperwork for him and everything. Same thing with the lady doing the MRI, she was so patient and understanding with what I was going through, and just let me take as much time as I needed to be in a position to do the test.
I mean to tell you that I could not have encountered any nicer people at Bert Fish Hospital and I just appreciate all of them so much. I did fill out the survey that was sent to me and complimented them on such compassionate & caring individuals, but I wanted to pass it on a little further as well. You guys have a great group of people there and I was blessed to be taken care of by them.
Thank you!!
Sandy
Emergency Medicine Physician
I am an Emergency Medicine Physician at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. My 80 yr old father was admitted to Bert Fish Medical Center after he fell 15ft from a ladder with a chainsaw in hand while trying to cut down a large tree limb. His fall knocked him unconscious and he came in critical condition to your Emergency Department where he had excellent and very thorough medical care from Dr. Taylor and his ER nurse, Natalie.
From the moment my father stepped into your hospital – from the Emergency Department to his one week long stay at PCU-he had the most amazing care from your house staff physicians, nurses, CNS’s, ancillary services and all those who helped in his care.
My mother and I were in the hospital 24/7 and got to know everyone who took care of him in the PCU. Please commend and recognize your wonderful staff in PCU who took care of my father.
- CNA’s – Tracy, Opal, Corrine, Doris, Shaina, Kim
- Nurses- Dee, Keirstyn, Sara, Vera, Christy, Pat, Matt, and all the PCU charge nurses and Natalie (his ER nurse.

- APEX home health –Jim amazing in help with discharge and all we needed at home
- Case Manager – Karen
- All the Unit Clerk, XRAY and CT techs, Phlebotomists
I also want to especially thank Dr. Taylor, Dr. Day, Dr. Berger, Dr. R Ailani, Dr. Zacharis, Latoya (pulmonologist’s nurse practitioner) Dr. Epstein, Dr. Kolluri, Dr. Khalil, and Dr. Toub who all gave my father excellent medical care that saved his life.
My family and I were so very impressed with your hospital staff. Everyone had such a positive caring and professional attitude towards my father and family.
Please let your ER and PCU staff know how incredible they were in the care of my father and there are not enough words to say or show how grateful we are to them.
Best wishes in your transition with Florida Hospital System. I do hope you keep your present staff with the transition for they are all an invaluable, remarkable asset to your hospital.
Gratefully,
Sudhipong, MD
Caring and Friendly Spirit
Dear Sir:
Friday, February 19, in the late afternoon, I began to experience chest pain and upper abdominal pain with nausea. Dr. Lo is my cardiologist, therefore I came to your ER. I was tested and treated after determining that I had an inflamed gall bladder with gall stones. I was admitted and had surgery.
I am writing to commend both your professional and regular staff. The attitude of all whom I came in contact with were professional, caring and friendly. All would go beyond their expectations to help.
I would like to name some who attended me.
- Emergency Room: Mary, Joni, Kevin and Dr. Goodman
- Surgery: Dr. Walters and staff
- Third Floor: Karen, Vickie, Becky, Bob, Kris, Linda and Amy
Please keep your caring and friendly spirit continuing.
