Bert Fish Medical Center is a community-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the health care needs of the members of our community. One of the ways we fulfill our non-profit mission is to offer financial assistance to our patients who have an economic need and meet the qualifications of our financial assistance policy. Below is a summary of programs and services that may be available to you.
Payment Options
For your convenience Bert Fish Medical Center accepts cash, checks, and all major credit cards. We offer the following payment options to patients that do not have the ability to pay their financial responsibility in full:
- Monthy payment plans. (A deposit is required to qualify for these plans.)
- Enrollment in an auto-debit program through a Financial Advocate.
Uninsured Patient Discount
This discount is designed for patients that do not have insurance coverage for services rendered and do not qualify for any governmental assistance or other hospital financial assistance programs. Patients that do not have insurance coverage will receive an automatic 50% uninsured discount on their bill.
Financial Assistance
For patients who are in need of financal assistance, Bert Fish Medical Center offers alternate funding and payment plan options. Our Financial Advocates work with patients to identify the options available based on government and hospital regulations.

Hospital Financial Assistance Programs
Patients may quality for hospital financial assistance when the household income is as much as four times the federal poverty guidelines. To be considered for these assistance programs, the patient will be required to provide information on the household finances through a confidential financial application. Documentation will be requested to verify the patient’s circumstances in order to determine eligibility.
Patient Hardship
In some extreme circumstances, patients that do not meet financial assistance requirements and do not have insurance may request financial assistance for a specific diagnosis or incident. Your physician may apply on your behalf for a case specific financial hardship determination. This will require an in depth committee review.
Financial Advocacy Services
Our Financial Advocates are dedicated to assisting patients. For assistance or additional information on Bert Fish Medical Center financial programs, or to request a copy of the related policies, you may stop by the Financial Assistance Office located in the hospital’s outpatient lobby. You may also contact the Financial Assistance Office at (386) 424-6513 or (386) 424-5193. Financial Advocates are available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
