Surgical Services

At Bert Fish Medical Center, our surgery patients have the best of both worlds:  big city technology with small-town care and compassion.  There is a main operating room, same day surgery operating room and nursing unit, and a gastrointestinal lab to meet the needs of those visiting and living in Southeast Volusia County. 

To ensure the best care possible, Bert Fish boasts a PACU (Post-anesthesia Care Unit) that is comprised of specially-trained RNs who understand the needs of in-patients and out-patients who have just come from surgery.  The hospital also has specially-trained technicians in the SPD (Sterile Processing Department) that ensures sterility of equipment, instruments and surgery units.
