PLANNED GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
It is so exciting to find that there is a way for you to help create something new at the hospital or help improve an area of healthcare in this community without having to die first!
The Bert Fish Medical Center Foundation, in 2008, instituted a new Planned Giving service to people in this community and it is available to anyone, whether you want to make a commitment to the hospital or not.
Our man, Dave Smith (yes that's his real name!) will be happy to meet with you and discuss a financial structure that can provide you with an income tax savings and allow you to make the most of your lifetime goal of taking care of family, maybe friends and deserving organizations that have had an impact on you.
He can answer all of your questions about Charitable Trusts, Annuities, how to give real estate, Bequest, Endowments and more.
The service we offer is absolutely free, provided by the hospital Foundation to anyone in our community and is not intended to replace your financial advisor or attorney. As a part of this service, your first visit will take about an hour of your time and there is no need to bring financial information or files. Cash Gifts
You can mail a check to the Bert Fish Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 1000, NSB, Fl 32170. Your cash donation can be specified for a particular purpose or allowed to be unrestricted and used for one of our many projects.
Charitable Trust
You can set up a trust and make the Bert Fish Medical Center a beneficiary. You will receive a lifetime income (fixed or variable return) and get immediate savings on income taxes. Dave Smith will be glad to explain this and other Trust options. Just call our Foundation office at 386-424-5015.
Life Insurance as a gift
It is possible for you to name the Bert Fish Medical Center Foundation as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy. If you do, your ongoing premium payments qualify as charitable deductions. Real Estate
Many people are surprised that you can leave real estate (property or home) to The Foundation. It can help you avoid the difficulties of selling property and you do not pay capital gains taxes. The hospital Foundation would then sell the house or land and the proceeds benefit the hospital. Just call the Foundation office at 386-424-5015 and we can get you all the information you need on how to transfer the real estate.
Endowment
In this process, you would mke a contribution to the Foundation, which will then set up a special account and invest the principal. Then we follow very prudent financial strategies to protect your money and help it grow. You can establish an endowment in your own name or in honor or in memory of someone who is special to you. The minimum investment for an Endowment at Bert Fish Medical Center is $50,000.
